Native Pollinator Plant Sale

We offer a Spring Potted Pollinator Plant Sale.

This year's sale will run through May 1st, and pickup is on June 4th from 9-3 at the office.

​

We receive our potted plants from Pleasant Prairie Nursery in Knox County.

Checks can be made out to McDonough County SWCD and payment is due at time of purchase.

​Pollinator Fun Facts!

  • Native plants are considered the best choice because of their abundance of nectar and pollen in addition to being low maintenance, generally pest free, drought tolerant, and ability to control erosion. They are good sources of food and shelter for wildlife, and naturally beautiful.

  • More than 100 U.S. grown crops rely on pollinators. The added revenue to crop production from pollinators is valued at $18 billion. 

  • Make sure you have at least 3 different species throughout the spring, summer, and fall seasons to provide adequate food when pollinators emerge from and prepare for winter hibernation. Plant in groupings (clumps) of each plant species for a greater impact.
